Anigozanthos, the kangaroo's foot!

Anigozanthos (Anigozanthos ps.), also known as "the kangaroo's foot", is a remarkable plant that steals the show with its impressive flowers. It is a perennial plant from the Haemodoraceae family and comes from Australia. Its main characteristics are its long, thin, velvety leaves and its striking, colorful flowers.

Blossom

The flowers of the anigozanthum are shaped like a kangaroo's leg. They come in a variety of colors, including orange, red, and yellow. Its flowering starts from spring and lasts until autumn.

Position

It prefers sunny places, the plant loves the sun so make sure it receives a few hours of sunshine every day so that it blooms longer and maintains its intense colors. The longer it is in the light, the more intense its colors become.

Watering

It needs regular watering during the spring and summer season. The soil should be kept slightly moist, but excessive water should be avoided.

Terrain

It is best to keep its soil fresh (be careful that it drains and that its roots are not constantly in mud) to help develop more vegetation, especially when the plant remains in a pot. When you choose to plant it directly in the ground remember that it needs well-drained soils.

Durability

It is resistant to light frost, meaning it can survive outside when the temperature drops to -5°C for a few hours. It is very resistant to drought.

Enemies and diseases

The only thing to watch out for is the appearance of snails as they feed on the foliage of your plant. The leaves of Anigozanthos may also be liked by the pets of the house, don't worry, it won't harm them!
