Hoya, the indoor climber

Η Hoya (Hoya australis) is an evergreen climbing plant, relatively easy to care for, with air purifying properties. Indoor, with beautiful, long, narrow stems covered with thick, glossy leaves. It is native to East Asia and Australia and belongs to the Marsdenieae family.

Flowers

Its flowers grow in the shape of small stars, a shade of white with a little red in the middle, and give off a wonderful fragrance.

Position

It needs bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight as it can burn the leaves. It can live comfortably under artificial light, which makes it an ideal plant for an office or other indoor spaces.

Watering

Watering involves careful control. It should be watered sparingly, allowing the soil to dry out slightly between waterings. Too much moisture will destroy the plant.

Durability

The suitable temperature for Hoia is between 18 and 24°C. It cannot withstand temperatures below 16°C. As for pests and diseases, it is quite resistant.
