Preparing our vegetable garden!

Preparing a vegetable garden requires passion, attention and some basic knowledge.

Here are some steps you can take:

  1. Select the location: Choose an area in your garden where you get plenty of sun and well-draining soil. Its location needs to receive at least 6-8 hours of sunlight each day.
  2. Terrain: Make sure the soil has good drainage. Add organic material such as compost or manure to improve soil quality.
  3. Selection of plants: Select the vegetables you want to plant. Some popular ones are tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and parsley. The table below shows the plants you can plant in April (Table 1.).
  4. Sowing or planting: Depending on the species, you can choose to plant seeds or transplant already grown plants.
  5. Watering and care: Keep the soil moist but not overly wet. Give your plants enough water and add the appropriate organic fertilizers. Like organic calcium and organic potassium.
  6. Protection from enemies: Use natural means to protect your plants from diseases and insects. Certain plants such as basil, yarrow and lavender can repel insects.
  7. Harvest: When your vegetables are ready, harvest them at the right time for optimal flavor and nutritional value.
