Saxophone

The saxifrage is a plant that few know, belongs to a large family numbering over 440 species with distant origins in China and Japan. It is a perennial flowering plant that has low, slender dark green foliage that grows permanently in a circular arrangement with sufficient density. Loves the cool, semi-shady, rich in constituent soils, with the ideal planting point the rock garden, the wall gardens on balconies and terraces.

It has rich and dense flowering during spring and maybe in early summer in bright pink or white tones, while yellow, although rare, is a unique color choice for your garden. The prominent flowers of the foliage are reminiscent of bouquets and create a very pleasing to the eye sensation.

The saxifrage needs an airy environment, bright to semi-shady, while in summer it can be outdoors. The plant requires spots with frequent ventilation, constant air renewal and indirect lighting. In winter, as long as it is indoors, it has no problem with low temperatures, except for the panacea varieties. They need an ambient temperature of at least 15 οC.
