Common Name: New Guinea Love or Ipatience
Origin: Southeast Asia

It is characterized by wonderful leaves with a special texture and beautiful, bright flowers. It is a tropical plant. It is a bushy plant that reaches a height of 15-60 cm.

Leaves

It has lanceolate leaves, light to dark green in color and sometimes with a copper border.

Flowers

The flowering of the plant lasts a long time and the flowers come in many shades.

Terrain

It grows satisfactorily in all types of soil, without particular problems. A necessary condition is that the soil has good drainage.

Position

Loves shady or semi-shady planting locations. We choose the balcony with western or eastern exposure.

Watering

This plant needs frequent and sufficient watering. The amount of water is such that it goes all over the root system (e.g. a little water runs under the pot) and that water does not pool for a while after watering.

Caution!

We avoid wetting its leaves, because we will cause fungal diseases!

Lubrication

You need liquid complete fertilizer for green plants, once every 15 days during the spring and summer period.

Durability

It does not withstand the winter, below 10°C you can put it inside the house in a bright place.

Pruning

No pruning is needed and we simply clean our plant of withered flowers or leaves.

Diseases and enemies

Eros is quite resistant to insect and disease attacks. It can be affected by cotton insects, cotton bollworm and mealybug. The most common disease is fungal infection due to high humidity.
