Lobellia (Lobellia erinus) is a herbaceous, perennial plant of low growth. It comes from South Africa. Its maximum height reaches about 20-25 cm. Its leaves are small, oval, with a toothed margin. Its flowers are small, five-lobed and have small spots at their base. Its flowering starts in early spring and lasts until the beginning of summer.
Location
It grows satisfactorily in all types of soils, without particular problems. Prerequisite for the soil to be well drained and neutral pH. Prefers places with sun or moderate shade. In sunny places it grows better and produces more flowers.
Watering
It needs moderate to frequent watering, taking care to dry the soil between waterings.
Lubrication
To achieve high flowering production, fertilize your plants regularly using a water-soluble fertilizer. Apply the fertilizer in spring and summer (once a month).
Pruning
We need to remove the withered flowers to maintain their vitality and have a prolonged flowering.
