The ornamental cherry (Prunus serrulata “Kanzan”) is deciduous, fast growing, with a final height of 10m. The shape of the cone resembles an inverted cone. It has striking double pink flowers, which appear in early spring, before the leaves. It is one of the most beautiful deciduous trees with impressive flowering. Its leaves resemble cherry trees and turn bright red in autumn before they fall.
Location
Suitable for shady or sunny places, by the sea.
Watering
It needs moderate watering. In summer it needs more frequent watering.
Terrain
It grows successfully in a wide variety of soil types as long as they have good drainage.
Durability
It is resistant to frost and low temperatures down to -20°C. Ideal plant for places with intense air pollution and drought.
It is planted individually in gardens or in rows of trees, in parks and squares.
