The Meridian is an evergreen succulent with creeping growth. It has green triple leaves and large flowers of off-white, yellow or fuchsia color depending on the variety.
It has large flowering from late spring to early autumn depending on the region. It is an ideal plant for ground cover, rock gardens, flower beds and pots.
It prefers sunny places, as its flowers open only when there is intense sunshine, ie usually at noon. It can be planted in many different soil types, from well-drained and sandy to fertile, clayey, loamy and stony soils. It can withstand nutrient-poor or saline soils. Withstands without any water for long periods of time.
He manages and copes with the great heat. This is achieved by holding your breath during the day. It also has the strange property of accumulating salt. Any normal plant dies if exposed to an overly saline environment. Salt stimulates the production of acids in the plant. These, along with sugar alcohols, plenty of magnesium and the amino acid proline, provide a natural moisture retention agent. All these elements of the plant, in fact, attract and bind the minimal moisture that its environment offers. This is evidenced in a particularly impressive way by the cut branches, which do not dry out even after many weeks.
