Cacti are exotic plants that belong to the Cactaceae family. They have no leaves, but thorns that deter herbivores and bear unique flowers that only stay open for a few days. Some of the types of cacti that bloom are the following:
Echinopsis oxygona
It originates from South America and its genus includes a total of 150 species, most of which do not exceed two meters in height. Its flowers are from the largest of the cactus family with a diameter of 5 cm in white, pink or yellow.
Ferocactus wislizeni
It is native to the deserts of California and Baja California, Arizona, southern Nevada and Mexico and is one of the most widely cultivated cactus plants for its undeniable ornamental value. They usually have small flowers that seem to be hidden behind the thorns.
Gymnocalycium quehlianum
It originates from Argentina, part of Uruguay, Paraguay, southwestern Bolivia and Brazil. The genus includes 70 species and some of them have white, lilac, pink or red flowers.
Mammillaria swinglei
It comes from the southern United States, Mexico and the coast of Venezuela. It is the largest genus of cacti as it contains more than 350 species, some of which reach a height of 60 cm with small white, pink or red flowers.
Notocactus Tenuicylindrica
It comes from Colombia, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay. The genus consists of 50 species and some of them have many yellow, white or pink flowers.
Tephrocactus geometricus
It originates from Argentina and has large white-pink flowers with a diameter of up to 4 cm.

Location
They should be in a place where direct sunlight hits them, not only for flowering but also for optimal growth.
Substrate
The substrate must provide good ventilation and drainage. They grow in sandy and porous soils. Substrates suitable for cacti and succulents are commercially available.
Watering
Cacti do not have high water requirements, but in summer their requirements increase with increasing temperature. In winter watering should be significantly reduced. However, the substrate must be checked every season before watering.
