Formium is an evergreen, perennial and rhizomatous plant. It has many offshoots with sword-like leaves, which emerge from the soil and bend towards the ground when they grow.
Leaves
Its leaves are broad, lance-shaped with a dark green color with cream edges.
Terrain
It grows satisfactorily in all types of soil, without particular problems. A necessary condition is that the soil has good drainage.
Position
Prefers sunny positions, but also thrives in semi-shade. A south- or east-facing spot protected from strong winds is ideal.
Watering
It needs moderate watering, especially in the summer months.
Lubrication
Apply the fertilizer in spring and summer (once a month). You can use either a complete, granular fertilizer by spreading it on the soil between the plants and then watering well, or by dissolving a water-soluble fertilizer in the watering can.
Durability
It thrives in places with mild winters and can withstand cold and low temperatures up to - 15ο C. Caution is required with strong winds. Suitable for planting in areas with heavy air pollution. It withstands coastal areas.
Pruning
No need for pruning! We remove the dry leaves and flowers in the spring to protect them from the strong wind.
