Evening primrose is an upright, semi-evergreen shrub 2-3m tall with long and arching branches. Its leaves are pointed and elongated with a bright green color.

Flowers

Its flowers are small, cylindrical with a light green color and appear in bunches along its branches. At night its flowers open releasing a strong spice aroma.

Terrain

It grows satisfactorily in all types of soil, without particular problems. A necessary condition is that the soil has good drainage.

Position

The evening primrose is placed in sunny and semi-shady places, in the garden and on the terrace. But when the temperatures are high in the summer, the plants should be moved to places without direct sunlight as they cause burns that appear as drying on the edges of the leaves.

Watering

It does not have high water requirements, except in the summer months when you can increase its watering.

Lubrication

It does not have high nutrient requirements. It is good to apply a preparation in liquid form for immediate results in early spring and late summer.

Durability

It cannot stand the cold, for this winter we put it in a sheltered area. Be careful with strong winds. It is suitable for planting in areas with intense atmospheric pollution. Withstands coastal areas.

Configuration pruning is often needed to maintain the desired size and shape.

They show great resistance to entomological and fungal diseases and usually during the time they remain in the garden they do not need special treatment.
