Cactus Saguaro

The Saguaro cactus (The giant carnage) is a species of large cactus, the size of a tree, belonging to the monotype genus Carnegiea. It is an endemic cactus of America and is found in the Sonoran Desert of the state of Arizona. Saguaro Blossom is the emblem of Arizona.

Flowering and fruiting begin at about 30 years of age. At the age of 100 it can reach 7,5 meters. Its lifespan is at least 150 years. The maximum it can reach is 15 meters and its weight can exceed 10 tons. It is one of the largest desert cacti or plants in the world.

One of the greatest known Saguaros that exists lived for 300 years, was over 12 meters tall, had 45 arms and weighed 13 tons!
