Philadelphia

Philadelphus, also known as Syringa, is a fast-growing deciduous shrub that reaches a height of up to 3 meters. It has great ornamental value, due to its white fragrant flowers. Its leaves are oval, sharp and jagged with a green color. Its flowering period starts from the end of spring and lasts until the beginning of summer. Its flowers are white in color and fragrant and usually appear in small inflorescences consisting of a small number of flowers.

Location

It grows satisfactorily in all types of soils, without particular problems. Prerequisite for the soil to be well drained. Prefers places with sun or moderate shade. In sunny places it grows better and produces more flowers.

Watering

It does not have high water requirements, except in the summer months when you can increase its watering.

Lubrication

It does not have high nutrient requirements. It is good to apply a granular fertilizer in early spring and late summer.

Durability

It is resistant to cold and can withstand up to -25 ° C.

Pruning

Pruning is recommended after the end of flowering. Prune the shoots at 1/3 -1/2 of their length. A very active pruning will result in intense vegetation next year, but without flowering.
