Loropetalo

Loropetalo is an evergreen shrub with unusual and irregular dark burgundy foliage. The leaves have a hard texture and a slightly circular arrangement. The flowers, however, are extremely impressive, fuchsia or red, depending on the variety, during the summer until September. It does not reach a great height, it hardly exceeds 2m, it further increases its volume and the number of its flowers.

It is easily adapted to all types of soils. But they must have very good drainage and a low pH. It is good to be placed in semi-shady places. It has great resistance to low temperatures, which is one of its most important advantages.

It does not need special pruning, we just top and shape the plant to strengthen and give more flowering. As for the fertilization, it is good to apply liquid fertilizer 3 times a month. Finally, it rarely shows any disease. If the leaves show some fading it may be due to lack of light.
