Hawthorn (Crataegus monogyna) is a small deciduous tree with thorns, white fragrant flowers and red fruits. Its height can reach 6-10 meters. The blooming season is April-June. The flowering stems are harvested in late spring and the fruits in late summer or early fall. Its fruits contain 2-3 seeds, are ovoid with a diameter of 8-12 millimeters and have a light red color.
