Flowers

Its flowers are whitish in color and shaped like a bell, 1 cm long with the opening downwards. They appear in mid-Autumn and are rich in nectar and pollen until late Spring.

Fruit

Its fruits are edible, spherical, fleshy with conical protrusions, 1,5-2 cm in diameter and ripen one year after appearing on the plant, at the same time as the next year's flowering. The fruits have a starchy sweet taste, but in some cases they can cause indigestion, so they should be consumed in small quantities. Because of their high alcohol content, they are excellent for making tsipouro.
