Origin: Tropical regions of Africa
 

Tropical indoor plant with a special exotic beauty. From its woody trunk emerge its hard green lanceolate leaves. It is a relatively slow-growing plant that can reach up to 1,5 meters in height.

Leaves

Its leaves are leathery, lance-shaped, shiny and green in color.

Terrain

Their soil should be light, with a high content of peat and have good drainage.

Position

Suitable temperatures for dracaena to grow are between 16-25°C. Dracaenas need enough light, but not direct because it will burn the leaves. It is good to keep the dracaena away from heat sources, such as fireplaces and radiators, as well as from the cold currents of air conditioners during the summer season.

Watering

Dracaena needs a little water but watering should be regular, but the soil should be dry enough until the next watering.

Lubrication

Fertilization should be done with liquid fertilizer during the growing season (spring and autumn) and not at all during the winter months.

Durability

It withstands the high temperatures of summer and the low temperatures of winter up to -20ºC. It is a plant resistant to heat, strong winds and air pollution.

Pruning

Pruned in early spring for lush foliage.

Its most common enemy is the coccoids that cause cotton blight.
