Veigelia, also known as apple tree, is an upright, deciduous shrub of spherical growth. The maximum height and diameter of the plant reach 1-2 meters. It has very rich foliage of simple, oval leaves in bright green or variegated colors.

Flowers

It blooms from late spring and summer with particularly rich flowering along all its branches. The flowers are bell-shaped, with a bright red, pink or purple color and therefore immediately attract attention.

Terrain

It grows satisfactorily in all types of soil, without particular problems. A necessary condition is that the soil has good drainage. It prefers sandy soils, rich in nutrients.

Position

Prefers sunny positions but can also tolerate partial shade. It also shows great resistance to high summer temperatures, as long as it has sufficient humidity.
