On the market you will find roses in pots, but also bare-rooted plants, i.e. plants that do not have a ball of soil covering their roots. The roses in pots They can be transplanted at any time, but it is best done in the fall or early spring.

The bare-rooted roses are transplanted in late autumn to early spring, from November to March, ie the period when they have no leaves.

The soil in which the roses will be planted should be rich in organic elements and retain moisture, but not remain too wet and muddy.

2. Location

Roses, regardless of their species and variety, should be planted in places with plenty of sun to give rich flowering. Because it is a deciduous plant, we must be careful in choosing the point on our balcony so that they are placed in compositions that include evergreen plants, so as not to create gaps during the winter months. The rose needs moist and cool soil to grow and give rich flowering. Therefore, it is good to water it often with as much water as needed to keep the soil moist at a sufficient depth. In order to achieve continuous and abundant flowering, it is good to strengthen it regularly with the special fertilizer for roses which we can find in all specialized stores. When we add the fertilizer, don't forget to dig the soil around the plant a little - this helps a lot in its proper absorption. Once a year we must add well-digested manure, peat or some mulch to the pit, to enrich their soil with organic matter.

The pruning is probably the most important cultivation care for the rose.

It is a job that is done once a year, in winter after the great frosts and generally before the beginning of the new vegetation, that is, in January for the southern and warm regions and in February for the colder ones.
