The Keukenhof, also known as the Garden of Europe, is truly a paradise. It is located in the Netherlands, near Lisse, south of Haarlem and southwest of Amsterdam and is rightly a very beautiful attraction. This is a flower exhibition that the Dutch are very proud of. The Keukenhof is today the largest flower garden in the world, with an area of 32 hectares (79 acres).
The park only operates for a certain period of time because the tulips remain in bloom only in spring. This period is every year from March 22 to May 20. During this period, it is visited by about 1.000.000 people, of whom 65% are foreigners.
It is a park-garden, which first started operating in 1949 as a flower exhibition, in which local growers sold plants. Over the years, this has evolved into a masterpiece park that when you visit it you think is a part of paradise.
Every year in this garden are planted 7.000.000 bulbs, from tulips, hyacinths, crocuses, anemones, narcissus, irises, fritters and more, with a different planting plan! These designs highlight the specific flowers in a different way and the result is amazing. In addition to the different types of flowers, colors and scents, there are poppies and bridges that complement the beautiful landscape.
